Loguetown Empty Loguetown

Post by admin Sat Jan 22, 2011 2:38 am

This is the infamous Loguetown, the gateway to the Grand Line. A hot spot for Pirates and the Navy. Bounty Hunters go here looking for pirates to take out.

Toki sailed his weathered ship into port and got off. He needed to replenish his Scorpion Pirate crew and get ready for the trip back to the grandline.

Sterling sat down heavily in a corner booth of a popular bar in Loguetown. He had just finished turning over a well-known pirate to the Marines and needed something to drink. She put her feet up on the table and sighed.

"Good to be 'home'," she said to nobody.

Toki wandered into the bar. If he was going to find a few more pirates for his crew, no better place to start.

He eyed the crowded bar and shrugged. He'd wait till he got some food and drink before he made his announcement. Didn't want to get thrown out too early.

Sterling took of her glasses and cleaned them with her shirt. She skimmed the bar with her eyes, amused by the slightly blurry bodies moving around. She replaced them and sighed again. "It's kinda boring between jobs."

Toki stretched and pulled out his gun and shot it into the air. "Attention, pirates. If any of you think they're worth their merits as a man of the sea, you can now join up the Scorpion pirate crew. We've recently tangled with Jack Rackham, and we need a few extra hands onboard. If you're in, expect it to be treacherous, but a good adventure."

Toki eyed the men around him and waited to see if any would accept his offer. An old school way of asking for pirates, but sometimes that was the best way.

Sterling heard a gunshot fired and someone shouting something about recruiting pirates. She pushed her glasses up and looked in the direction of the voice. The man certainly seemed harmless enough. Others seemed to think so as the room remained somewhat calm. She glanced through some of her wanted fliers quickly, glimpsing his face on one somewhere in the stack.

"Something to cure the boredom. Better watch and see what happens."

A large man came up behind Toki and gave him a shove. "This is the wrong place to be recruiting pirates. We the Mohawks control this pub. We'll have little respe-"

Toki picked the man up and slammed him into the ground. Toki looked about the room. "I don't want to start a fight. Just looking for pirates to join me."

Sterling raised her eyebrow at this unexpected development. This man - Scorpion - had just flattened the largest man in the Mohawks crew with little effort. She remained still, wondering what would happen next. "They'll get mad."

Seated in the back corner of the bar, Daevin glanced up from the drink in his hand when he heard the exclamation from someone in the crowd. His eyes sought out the man who had shot off his gun and raised his eyebrows when he saw him knock another guy onto the ground.

He smirked, interest peaking. He stood up from his table and moved to join the rest of the bristling crowd, trying to blend in.

Toki Akabane could tell this was going to be messy so he made one last attempt to stop the crowd.

"Let's be reasonable, fellas?" Toki asked.

Within seconds attacks had closed in and Toki began stepping between them and knocking them out. He didn't enjoy fighting but if he was going to do it, he wasn't going to lose.

Sterling stood, a slight smirk on her face. She joined the group, eager to watch the man's fighting style and see how he planned to escape the bar. "Fun fun fun," she thought excitedly.

Daevin Zelos watched the swirl of activity around him and was surprised by the speed of the man as he fought.

"This guy is something else." Daevin murmured to himself. He thought back to the guy's proposition about needing members for his crew. Surely, a man of his skill would only want the best of the best.

A body was suddenly flying towards him and Daevin sidestepped to avoid the collision, watching as the person landed on the floor hard. He smiled, flexed his fingers and grabbed the hilt of his sword.

With a quick thrust, Daevin flung himself into the crowd, aiming towards the middle, slicing any one who was targeting the man he did not know but was intrigued by.

Toki continued to block the blows of the incoming attacks and noticed the numbers were sharply increasing. He picked up a rather large opponent and swung him into the crowd as a battery ram.

"What's a matter, guys? If you plan to face the Grand Line you're gonna need more strength then you're showing me here! Go back to the reefs of East Blue and hide yourselves," Toki laughed.

Toki noticed a swordsman skillfully taking out some of the people around him. "You're not bad," Toki called out to him.

Sterling squinted at the man. His jab at the East Blue struck home and she suddenly felt the urge to punch him squarely in the nose. She checked over each shoulder to make sure her weapons were in place - they were - and slowly backed out of the crowd. Another swordsman appeared to want to take a crack at the pirate. "Two on one seems hardly fair."

Daewin headbutted one of the large men and turned to respond with, "Thanks. You aren't so bad yourself!" He jabbed someone else with his sword.

He then swung his foot out to trip a few. He backed up to gain some room and wasn't very happy at what he surveyed. The crowd seemed to be growing larger even though both of them were taking out a decent amount of them. "I heard what you said about needing crew members." He shouted, readying his sword. "I guess this is my way of applying for a position."

"Do you have any references?" Toki asked as he knee'd a man to the face.

"Jump," Toki grumbled and he punched into the ground. The bar groaned from the force of the attack as splinters of wood ricocheted across the small bar and bodies went flying everywhere.

Sterling had nearly backed her way back to her booth when the ground suddenly began rippling violently. Caught completely off guard, she flew into the air, landing heavily on the table, crushing the mug she had been using. She groaned and muttered beneath her breath as she surveyed the scene. Bodies lay everywhere in various states of well-being.

"Stupid men," she muttered, rubbing her back. She found a small piece of glass and plucked it out. The blood on it shown a dark red in the dull light. She flung it away without interest.

"Unfortunately, no." Daevin smiled lightly. When the ground started to shake, he hadn't been able to keep his balance and had been sent tumbling onto the ground and slamming into a wall. When he got to his feet, he rubbed at his arms and neck, groaning slightly.

His hands were now on his hips and his sword was back in its sheath. He glanced around. "Neat trick!"

'Now I vote we do like the best of pirates and get out of here.'

Sterling acted on those words. She leaped off the table head first, rolled once, and came to her feet in front of the door.

"If you would be so kind as to not leave yet," she said, straightening her jacket. "I would like to do some business with you."

Daevin stopped in his escape, staring at the woman who had seemed to suddenly appear.

"Business?" He echoed, blinking.

Toki jumped back and put his arms up. He could tell she was very fast and not unskilled like the rest of the clowns. "What do you want with us?" Toki asked.

Sterling weighed her chances of fighting both pirates at once, then thought better of it. Stealth would be required this time.

"Just simple business," Sterling said. "You said you were looking for pirates for your crew, right? I'd like to join." She leaned against the doorpost and crossed her arms.

Daevin looked from the woman, to his new Captain and back again.

She would be a good addition to their group, he thought to himself as he looked her over. She looks strong and was obviously fast, way faster than me.
